Strands Jewelry Adds New Style of Eyeglass Chain: The Necklace

by Anonymous

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN November 19, 2003 - In its continuing efforts to meet customer needs and expand its popular line, Strands Jewelry now offers a necklace style eyeglass chain.

According to Strands owner Anita Nagurka, "Not everyone likes what we call the ‘Original Style,' in which the ends of the chain attach to the temple of the glasses with rubber loops and remain attached while the glasses are being worn. Some people don't like the distraction of having the chain hanging near their face."

In response to customer feedback, the company introduced a shorter style, meant to be worn as a necklace. The ‘Necklace Style' chain features a ring at the bottom into which the glasses are hooked when they're not being worn. It's another option for people who need to keep a pair of glasses at hand.

Even better, the customer isn't limited to wearing the chain this way should she change her mind. Each end of the chain has an easy-to-use clasp which can be unhooked from the ring and hooked on to the rubber loops for the original style. The design supports either style interchangeably. The ring can also be turned to the back and the chain becomes a standard necklace.

"We try to build in some versatility so the customer has a choice about how to wear these," said Nagurka.

Despite their practical features and sturdiness, Strands eyeglass chains haven't sacrificed their elegance and distinctiveness. The beaded designs are made of freshwater pearls, semiprecious stones, crystal, glass, and even exotic abalone. No matter how they're worn, each one is an attractive piece of jewelry.
